STRUFFOLI - Honey Balls

Struffoli is a Neapolitan dish made of deep fried balls of dough about the size of marbles. Crunchy on the outside and light inside, struffoli are mixed with honey and other sweet ingredients. There are many different ways to dress them, but the traditional way is to mix them in honey with nonpareils sprinkles and bits of diced citron and orange rind just like we do! In Calabria they are also known as "scalilli", and in Abruzzi "cicerchiata". These are served at Christmas, either piled high into one big (ours are sold in one pound) mound, sometimes shaped into several smaller mounds (sold in mini tart gift wrapped containers), or, especially around the holidays, formed into a wreath. Take Angela's advice and serve them warm! A sweet holiday treat everyone will surely love! Buon Natale!

Please note that the Struffoli holiday treats are available for in store pick-up only on these dates: December 23rd (6am-2pm) & 24th (6-12). These are only available to our walk-in local customers either by prepaid online order (seen here) or as first-come, first-serve at our bakery shop.

Open every year on Christmas Eve, December 24th from 6:00 AM to 12:00 NOON.
